How do I know if I should use speaker stands? If so, which size?
And what exactly will spikes do for me?

Because midrange and treble frequencies are very directional, your speakers will sound their best when your ears are at the same height as the tweeter. Floor-standing speakers are designed to be used without speaker stands, but small - to medium - sized speakers will most likely need stands to raise the tweeters to ear level.

The height of paxaq speaker stands is lower than it should be for my application. Is there any possibility to make them higher?

Definitely! Measurements given in our brochures are standard one and suit most of customers. It is important to notice that by using spikes, speaker stands can be raised up for 5cm (2 inches).
But, if this does not satisfy you, we can make unique stands only for your application!

What are spikes used for?

If your speaker stands accept spikes on the bottom, installing them may improve your sound. Spikes often "tighten up" bass response by reducing vibrations. Spikes also provide greater stability on carpeted floors. All of paxaq products are equipped with huge, M20 INOX spikes resulting with extremely good connection between speakers and speaker stands.
